Meri Maiya Darbar - Contacting Meri Maiya bhakts

Meri Maiya Darbar is about community and communication. And there are plenty of ways to communicate: Posting in Meri Maiya Darbar, Private Messaging, E-mail, ICQ, AOL and YIM. Of course, all methods of communication are only available to members. An exception is when beta decides to allow guests to post in Meri Maiya Darbar: in this case all unregistered users are NOT allowed to do is viewing the Member List and sending Personal Messages to members.

In Meri Maiya Darbar
Of course the most obvious way to communicate is by posting publicly in Meri Maiya Darbar. That way your posts can be read and responded to by many Meri Maiya bhakts, not just one. But, if you need one-on-one communication, there are several facilities for that as well.

Private Messaging
While e-mail is a good way to correspond privately with Meri Maiya bhakts, it has several drawbacks: You must open your e-mail application to write and send the message; the recipient must open his/her e-mail application; check his/her mail—and your message will mixed in with all the other mail—and it can take sometimes several minutes to an hour for mail to reach the recipient.

As an alternative to e-mail, Meri Maiya Darbar offers a faster, more private method. Private Messaging
in Meri Maiya Darbar provides instantaneous delivery to the recipient's Private Mailbox. The mail is sent and received entirely through Meri Maiya Darbar, so neither you nor the recipient have to open another program or leave Meri Maiya Darbar. Private Messaging also gives both the sender and recipient greater privacy: No one's real e-mail address is revealed. Private Messages show only the handle and name of both parties.

If a recipient isn't online, Private Messages wait in the member's PM box until the next time s/he logs in and manually reads and/or deletes them. Meri Maiya Darbar Private Messages is a self-contained, highly private e-mail system. Go ahead, give it a try!

E-Mail
Most members provide their e-mail addresses for private correspondence. On all public posts is a button to create an e-mail directly to the author. Member e-mail addresses are also listed in their profiles, which are also accessible from any public posts as well as from the member list on Meri Maiya Darbar list.

ICQ ()
You may notice in some areas a funky little flower icon near a member's handle. That's an ICQ ("I-seek-you") icon. If, in the member's profile, s/he has specified an ICQ ID the flower appears in certain areas of Meri Maiya Darbar. Clicking on the icon will take you to the member's ICQ profile page on ICQ.com. There you may sign up for ICQ and communicate with the member via the free ICQ instant messenger chat client.

Real Name

The member's real or displayed name.
Example: (John Doe)

Member Group

Every registered member of  Meri Maiya Darbar is in a member group based on their post count. Sometimes beta may create member groups to assign to certain members. These groups may have private boards that only they can see, read, and reply to.

IP Address

On the bottom right of a post, just above the beginning of the next post, you might notice something like "LOGGED". This refers to a member's IP Address, which is a unique number that identifies the member by his connection to the Internet anywhere on the Internet. Any action on Meri Maiya Darbar (registering, posting, Private Messaging, and so forth) causes the system to save the member's IP Address. While you may see "LOGGED", beta sees the actual IP Address of the member. Thus, regardless of the information listed in the member's profile, beta will always be able to identify an individual member. This is done to protect the general membership and Meri Maiya Darbar itself. In extreme cases, beta may use an abusive member's IP Address to prevent that member from returning to Meri Maiya Darbar.
